ABOUT WEDDINGS

Weddings

I shot my first wedding way back in 1982, on black and white film. Having done many hundreds of weddings since then it is still very much a privilege every time to be invited to share in each couples big day. Weddings are great events, so by taking lots of candid photos of the couple and their guests, as well as the classic shots, I like to record real people, real emotions, real life, real love.

I like to do a pre wedding shoot and go thru the details of the day with each couple.  We go through the timing of the day and go and take some fun photos. All couples are unique and its great to get to know each other well which helps the day run smoother.  The pre wedding shoot is really the enagagement shoot package added as a freebie.

Steve’s wedding gallery is here.

Frequently asked questions, Terms & Conditions:

The Couple:
Each couple is different.  Pictures of couples enjoying each others company and having a laugh together are my favourite.
Relax, be yourself, have fun with each other and it comes across in the photos.

Availability:
If you would like to check availability please fill in the contact form and I will check that your date is available and email you back.
A date is only confirmed when the €250 deposit is received.

We can also shoot engagement photos before your wedding.
There is no extra charge for the pre-wedding shoot and processing, as it is being taken in goodwill, its good to practice and will be good fun.
On the week of the wedding, I will ring you and we can go thru the finer details of timing and ideas etc.

Do you help with the planning and timing of the day ?
Yes. I like to keep good communication going with your whole team - drivers, musicians, celebrant, hotel, parents, bridal party and guests.
We spend time on the planning for the wedding day, we can work out a spreadsheet which can be really handy  for your schedule.
Do allow time to pose a bit for the pictures, its really worthwhile and good craic.

Why a pre wedding shoot?
It gives us a chance to meet each other and have some fun with the camera.

How long does the prewedding shoot last?
That varies – sometimes its 10 minutes and sometimes its an hour, depends what we get up to.

Destination weddings?
Yes, for outside Ireland its the standard fee, plus flights and  accommodation.
Within Ireland, the first 60 miles is included, after that 75c per mile. If I am staying in a hotel / B&B the night before, the client pays :)

How long do you work on the wedding day ?
I usually start at 10 - 10.30am and I’m away as you start into your meal at about 6.30.

Then I go back to the office, download and protect your images and prepare the cameras for the next days work.

Do the group photos etc take long ?
It usually just takes a few minutes. I will organise them with your Bridesmaid and Groomsman on the day.

About how many pictures?
You will receive approx 450 individually processed pictures posted to you on a customised USB from your wedding day.
Most are color, with black & white when appropriate.

Do you do videos?
No, but I know loads of excellent videographers.

How long does it take to get the wedding pictures, and how do we get them?
I hope to have the computer work and Photoshop post processing done during the week following the wedding.
I can send via wetransfer and also on USB or dvd by post. So delivery of the USB stick is within a few weeks.

How does the wedding album bit work?
When I am finished the editing the photographs, they are album ready. Lorraine is my designer, does the wedding albums. She can do up a draft design that we send to your email for you you to approve or change.

What happens if you are ill or unable to attend or supply the photos?
Must say that it has never happened me in 34 years of photographing weddings but I suppose it could happen.
In that very unlikely event, I am in a network of excellent wedding photographers and I would make sure that you would know what is going on,
and that your day would be properly covered by an experienced competent professional. So this is what my insurance company suggest I say:
“In the very unlikely event that Steve Rogers cannot attend your wedding due to injury, sickness or accident, every effort to supply a substitute competent professional photographer will be made. In the also highly unlikely event of failure supply the pictures due to injury, sickness or accident Steve’s liability shall be limited to the amount paid up to that time by the client.”

Are you insured?
Yes, public liability and professional indemnity.

Copyright?
The photographer naturally retains copyright of the photos taken, and may use photographs of the clients for promotion, on this website or my social media.
If you have any problem with that just say it and I wont show them online and will delete them from my records.

The images are supplied to you at hi resolution so you can do you own prints as you wish.

Vat registered?
Yes.

How does the payment work?
Very straightforward – 250 deposit and the balance on or before the day.

Payment methods?
Cash, cheque, draft, bank transfer are all good.

Advice:
Careful with that champagne in the morning ladies, you may well last the day better with just tea,
and best-men – take care of the Groom if he is eyeing up a second pint before the church – it won’t help him and he will need to pee before the ceremony is over !

It is a lifesaver to have food, sandwiches and water etc, for you and your bridal party for the journey from the ceremony to the reception. It keeps your batteries up :)

Family photos:
This is best done at the church/place of the ceremony.  It can be a bit stressful chasing everybody later at the hotel.

Payment:
Payment is made in 2 stages: 1: the €250 deposit and the balance on the wedding day.

The wedding album can also be paid for beforehand if you wish.
Looking forward to a great day out with you !
